大卫•戈德布拉特（David Goldblatt）是《球是圆的: 一部足球的全球历史》（Ball is Round: A Global History of Football）一书的作者，该作品现在是公认的世界足球运动的决定性历史。2014年，他发表了两项国家层面研究，即《足球之国：巴西足球史》（Futebol NAtion: The Footballing History of Brazil）和《我们生命的游戏：英国足球的制造和意义》（The Game of Our lIves: The Making and Meaning of English Football）”，后者获2015年威廉希尔体育图书年度奖（2015 William Hill Sports Book of the Year）。2016年，他出版了《奥运比赛：全球奥运史》（The Games: A Global History of the Olympics）一书。
