乔·莫兰（Joe Moran）是利物浦约翰莫里斯大学的英语与文化史教授，著有七部作品，包括《排队入门：从早餐到就寝的日常生活纪事》（Queuing for Beginners: The Story of Daily Life from Breakfast to Bedtime）、《扶手椅国度：电视机前的英国私人史》（Armchair Nation: An Intimate History of Britain in Front of the TV）、《腼腆的紫罗兰：内向者的秘密生活》（Shrinking Violets: The Secret Life of Shyness）以及《先写一个句子》（First You Write a Sentence）。他为《卫报》（The Guardian）、《新政治家》（The New Statesman）、《泰晤士报文学增刊》（The Times Literary Supplement）等多家媒体撰稿。
