Focus Features has unveiled the arresting trailer for The Zookeeper’s Wife. The script for this film adaptation is based on Diane Ackerman’s 2007 novel.
Here’s more from Variety: “Inspired by a true story, the film is set directly after the Nazi invasion of Poland in 1939. Żabiński runs the Warsaw Zoo along with her husband, Dr. Jan Żabiński (Johan Heldenbergh). When they are forced to report to the Third Reich’s appointed chief zoologist, Lutz Heck (Daniel Bruhl), Antonina and Jan work together to with the resistance to smuggle Jews out of the nearby Warsaw Ghetto.”
