  • “ARRIVAL” AND “STRANGER THINGS” PRODUCER OPTIONS LARRY NIVEN’S INCONSTANT MOON (2017.02.23)

  • Dear Friends,

Fresh off its recent success with Arrival and Stranger Things, 21 Laps—the production studio of producer Shawn Levy—has picked up film rights to Larry Niven’s INCONSTANT MOON.

INCONSTANT MOON is a short story set in Los Angeles on the eve of the end of the world.  It begins with an unusually bright moon—so bright, it convinces Stan, a man about to break up with his girlfriend, that the Sun’s gone supernova, and this is his last night on Earth.  Figuring his girlfriend has no idea the end is near, he convinces her to have one last wild night together.  The story follows the twists and turns of their emotional lives as they try to make the most of the time they have left.

Fox 2000 has preemptively picked the project up based on a pitch, and director James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, The End of the Tour) is attached to direct.  Daniel Casey (10 Cloverfield Lane, Godforsaken) is set as screenwriter.
