Bloomsbury tops the winners of 2013 IPG Awards  

We are proud to report that Bloomsbury's Academic and Professional Division has won both the flagship prize forIndependent Publisher of the YearandAcademic & Professional Publisher of the Yearat the 2013 Independent Publishers Guild Awards. Many thanks to all of our authors for their contribution to this success.
The Independent Publishers Guild is the leading trade association representing independent publishers and Bloomsbury joins the ranks of seven other leading publishers to take the top honour of Independent Publisher of the Year, including Continuum, who joined the Bloomsbury family in 2011.

Judges singled out Bloomsbury Publishing, Academic and Professional Division for the breadth of its academic and professional publishing and its clear vision for what it wishes to achieve. Even allowing for the resources at its disposal, they recognized a company with a true entrepreneurial and independent spirit. "Some people have been doubtful about Bloomsbury's move into academic and professional publishing, butit proved last year that it is already a big player in its sector. It has used its money wisely and made everything work exceptionally well."

Bloomsbury Publishing, Academic and Professional Division scoops this Award for a year of standout sales and profitability, and the release of a string of creative new print and digital products. Judges saw that it had grown organically as well as through bolt-on lists, and admired its international ambition. "Bloomsbury may have had the resources to grow, but making its strategic acquisitions work through integration is a substantial achievement." 

That's not all - two shortlist nominations for The Bookseller Industry Awards 2013!We are also thrilled to say that Bloomsbury has been shortlisted for two of The Bookseller Industry Awards 2013,Academic, Educational and Professional Publisher of the Year- nominated alongside Oxford University Press, Pearson, SAGE Publications and Collins Learning - andDigital Strategy of the Year.
