Dear Friend,
I’m delighted to announce that Deborah Levy’s BLACK VODKA is on the six-strong shortlist for the Frank O’Connor Prize, one of the most prestigious (and richest) of its kind. Previous winners include Edna O’Brien, Jhumpa Lahiri and Haruki Murakami… Deborah goes head-to-head with Joyce Carol Oates and Peter Stamm amongst others, with George Saunders, Junot Díaz, and Emma Donoghue all missing out.
Here’s a link to the full shortlist: http://www.frankoconnor-shortstory-award.net/, and The Guardian’s coverage featuring a luminous picture of the lady herself http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2013/may/31/frank-o-connor-short-story-award.
